IOC board members, in conjunction with the IAAF, have taken the bold move to insist that all athletes and competitors in future Olympic games are placed on a compulsory drug programme in the lead up to the competition.
Having struggled in their efforts over the past decades to crack down on cheats within a large number of the disciplines, sources report that the governing body feel this solution will provide a more level playing field.
“It removes all doubt” said Tom Needles, chief competition strategist at the IOC.  “Fans and spectators will no longer be left wondering if their favourite competitors are to be stripped of medals and suffer the humiliation of exposure” he explained.  “This way, we can just sit back and enjoy the action.  Not to mention some fantastic new world records!” he added.
