Officials for the Indian Premier League have announced that fans of the popular live tournament, deemed to be attractive by a specially formed selection committee, will receive a rebate of 10% of the value of their ticket price.

Speaking at a recent press conference, the competition’s Head of Marketing explained the details of the new scheme.

“It makes complete sense” he stated. “Beautiful fans tend to attract the TV cameras and, in turn, increase our viewing figures. It’s only fair they receive part of that revenue”.

Fans are said to be excited by the move

It is understood the names and details of the most attractive spectators will be gathered by officials during the match, with rebates paid directly back onto their credit cards or via bank transfer.

Crowds are expected to respond to the ruling by competing heavily for airtime.

“I think it’s a wonderful idea” said IPL fan Amita. “I’m always seeing my face on the TV and now I get to benefit from it to!”

The IPL’s selection committee is expected to comprise of 50 officials from the board and management.

The new scheme is expected to come into operation at the beginning of the 2017 season.
