An overweight man from Hull is said to be “deeply disappointed and depressed” at his lack of weight loss after upgrading his Sky Sports subscription.

Gary Cowch from the east district of the new European City of Culture, purchased the upgrade to his subscription in the first week of this year but, according to his statement, has seen “little or no improvement” in his overall weight since signing the contract.

“With this being Hull’s big year, I was keen to smarten myself up a bit” explained Mr Cowch.  “I went for the full sports package too but it’s made no difference.” he went on.  “I even got that Formula One channel”

Hull is European City of Culture 2017.

Despite his considerable outlay and a significant number of hours spent making use of the service, Gary says he feels really let down by the results.

A customer services spokesperson from Sky Sports explained “Our terms and conditions are quite clear” he said.  “We offer an extensive range of sports in our broadcasting schedule but make no guarantees about what weight-loss a typical customer might experience”. he remarked.  “Every individual will react differently to the range of activities we programme across the week”

Mr Couch is said to be committed to pursuing his goal and, as such, has vowed to put extra hours in over the coming months.
